LET THE FLAME BURN BRIGHTER
I have a fantasy involving Aflame F.C. You can call it a dream? A vision? or even a Plan? or a Hope? Hmmm.... here is what was pictured in my mind while dwelling in such a fantastic state one day.

As I close the team in prayer in our changing room, we could hear the noise from the stands as spectators and fans gather to witness the finals of a major soccer league. As we said our Amen and left the room in file, we meet the opponents, we exchange smiles and handshakes in the tunnel.
Emerging from the end, we are greeted by a roar of applause eminating from a sea of orange. As we pose to take photos at the center line, the crowd rises with the following Anthem.
We'll walk the land with hearts on fire.
And every step will be a prayer.
Hope is rising, new day dawning.
Sound of singing fills the air.
Two Thousand years, and still the flame
Is burning bright across the land
Heart are waiting, longing, aching
For awakening once again.
Chorus:
Let the flame burn brighter.
In the heart of the darkness.
Turning light to glorious day.
Let the song grow louder.
As our love grows stronger.
Let it shine, let it shine.
We'll walk for truth, speak out for love.
In Jesus name we shall be strong.
To lift the fallen, to save the children.
To fill the nation with Your song.
"I willingly give my life to witness such a scene.
To have thousands sing of this hope we have in God. Fans, parents, brothers, sisters, pre-believers all sining this song. No matter if we did not lift the cup that night. All that matters... GOD is lifted high above the nation."
I begin to think ... Brasil after the recent World Cup finals... then my thoughts brought me to ponder ipon the impact that such a chorus will have on this nation.
THE NEWPAPER (Post Match Day)

SONG: I AM WILLING
No one except for the person who edited my compilation of song (dun tell you who) have seen the lyrics to this song. No one had ever heard it before. Infact, I am still tweaking the melody... trying to figure out how to.... hmmm... anyways...
Songwriter's Notes
Written in 2002, it has a rather dramatic melody in the chorus but the verses...hmmm... :)
The theme is rather familiar, exploring how we in our sins have placed the Lamb of God on the cross to be our redeeming sacrifice. My editor liked this one the most. Hope it will minister to you as much as it did to me while I wrote it.
Once again, only lyrics available.
I AM WILLING
Verse 1:
In disobedience,
I have grieved you Lord.
Lost in my sins,
I have sold myself over.
And now I am grieved
As I look at myself.
Holding the hammer
That nailed the hands
Of my saviour to a cross.
Chorus 1:
What have I done.
I nailed Jesus to the corss.
What have I done.
That He should suffer for my sins.
Forgive me Lord,
I fell broken at His feet.
Then he looked at me and said,
"I love you child and I am willing,
Willing to die for you."
Verse 2:
In Surrender
I offer my life to You
What more can I give
For the love You've given me
Still I am weak,
As I look upon the cross.
Holding to Jesus
I will run through the course
You have set out for me.
Chorus 2:
What have You done
That gave me everlasting life.
What have you done
Now I have overflowing joy.
You died for my sins.
I fall contrite on my knees.
I'm so weak, but You should know,
"I love You Jesus and I am willing,
Willing to live for You.
What I look for in a mate.
So...... long time waitng?
What happens when you live in a world that believes that everything is relative... Is you get answers such as, tonight can be any night depending on the day that you read the post...
Well, I am not a relativist. My apologies for not posting on time. Though I did ask for comments but well... they were not forthcoming. So now I am more detailed with my requests (by the way, it does make you come back to this blog just to check doesn't it... hehehe).
So what is MY ANSWER? Think my analogy was too obvious
I am praying for someone who has:
DIRECT confidence in God not just in the relationship but in everything. Which leads to her INDIRECT confidence in herself.
INDIRECT because the confidence she has is not from herself but rather from God who dwells in her. Her DIRECT confidence in God also leads her to have the same kind of INDIRECT confidence that comes from seeing God in me.
People falter.
God is steadfast and faithful.
So what happens to a person who has God in her/him?
Does it mean that she/he will not falter too?
Wahahahaahahaha... jialat... bite my own foot, step on own tongue!!
hOw? What say YOU my friends?
Please comment, will not update till I see comments from at least 3 persons (otheriwse it would seem like I am talking to myself!).
Thanks People!
What do you look for in a mate (wife/husband)?
That was the question posted on Class 95 as one of their ad campaigns for some Valentine's day thingy. After the question was asked, a guy's voice clip was played, he was asked to answer the very same question in an interview (ala matchmaking video). Can't really remember his full reply but the gist of it is," She must have a sense of humor, fun loving and easy going ... etc"
Well... it got me thinking
There are many good things in the world that the world "look" for in the a mate; humor, fun, maturity, money, looks ... etc. Well, they are there because the world had been created... well... good (a grading given by God Himself).
The thing is... even the best of the world (as we have it now) is no where near the worst of what God gives His children... which leads us to my own answer to this question.
What I would "look" for in a mate can me summarised in this phrase:
Confidence: 1 Direct and 2 Indirect.
HUH?! What the.... ?!
1 Direct confidence.
2 Indirect confidence.
Example:
When I take a step on a wooden rope bridge, I am placing DIRECT confidence on the Architect (intangible) who built the bridge and INDIRECT confidence on the wooden plank (tangible) on which I am stepping on, that the engineers chose the best and strongest planks that meet the Architect's requirements.
Anybody wants to hazzard a guess at what I mean?
Serious!
Post a comment or tag the tagboard.
I will reveal my answer later tonight!
Decided to start putting my songs on this media...
but only the lyrics no chords nor MP3...
hehehe...
Songwriter's Notes
So Do Not Fear was written during the SPCF orientation camp I attended in 1996. It was part of a skit that my team put up surrounding the theme "No Fear". It is a very simple yet catchy song.
When I thought of the theme for the skit, I wanted to see what God says about fear in the bible. So came Isaiah 41:10. The verse made up the lyrics and I had a tune brewing in my mind. But lacking guitar skills then, I had to depend on the expertise of Desmond.
Though initially we had problems with how the tune should go (I had trouble communicating it to Des) God somehow led us to the same point where the tune he gave Desmond was the same what I had in mind. Wow! That was way Kool!
Note to Songwritters
This song led me to realise that I love writing praise to God. Though I was handicapped without knowledge of music or instrument. God provided a way for HIS praise to be declared.
At the end of the day, along with my desire to be an effective worship leader, I found the impetus to pick up and learn the guitar. Songwriter, Do Not let fear of embarrasment hinder you from writing that first song. Let the Praises flow!
SO DO NOT FEAR (Em)
So do not fear
For I am with you
Do not be dismayed
For I am your God (2x)
Chorus:
I will strengthen you
And help you
Hold you with
My righteous right hand (2x)
" So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10
